JOB DESCRIPTION
Position Title: Social Worker-LCSW-C preferred or LGSW
Classification: Exempt
Work Schedule: Full-Time
Reports to: Director of Victim Services


Position Summary: This position is responsible for working in collaboration with the Victim Services and Legal Services staff to provide social services.

Primary Duties and Essential Functions:
• To provide direct mental health services to individuals and families who are crime victims in the Upper Marlboro and Baltimore City offices
• To provide psycho-social assessments and treatment plans for every client
• To develop and facilitate specialized support groups for victims of crime (i.e. domestic violence, grief peer support group for children/teens)
• To provide facilitation at the evening bi-weekly adult support group and work with the founder with the structure of the group
• To provides crisis intervention and resource referral services as needed
• To keep accurate records of the number and types of victims, to submit monthly statistics to the Director of Victim Services
• To maintain thorough client notes in the case management system
• To participate in victim services meetings to provide case consultation and support
• To participate in brown bag luncheon and occasionally provide in-service trainings for staff related to secondary trauma
• To assist with the intakes, court accompaniment with clients as needed
• To attend the Roper Victim Assistance Academy if there has not been previous attendance
• To provide field instructions for student interns
• Outreach
• To provide additional duties as directed

Experience:
MSW with a clinical concentration; LCSW-C preferred, LGSW acceptable
Skills working with victims of crime or other trauma victims preferred
Skills working with children
Knowledge of group dynamics and familiarity working with groups
Availability of some evening hours
