JOB DESCRIPTION
Position Title: Victim Advocate
Classification: Exempt
Work Schedule: Full-Time
Reports to: Director of Victim Services

Position Summary: This professional position is responsible for providing information and referral, direct support and advocacy to crime victims in Baltimore City and surrounding Counties (Including Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Harford, and Howard Counties).

Primary Duties and Essential Functions:

• Conduct victim intakes
• Provide victims information on victims’ rights
• Referrals to other victim and social service organizations
• Court accompaniment and advocacy
• Coordinate victims’ needs with MCVRC services
• Conduct follow-up with victims
• Keep records, including database maintenance (Legal Files), of the number and types of victim services and submits monthly statistics to the Director of Victim Services
• Participates in victim services interdisciplinary meetings
• Attend and represent MCVRC at outreach meetings and trainings
• Attend the Roper Victim Assistance Academy if there has not been previous attendance
• Works under the supervision of the Director of Victim Services
• Complete additional duties as directed

Experience:
• Bachelors Degree minimum
• Experience working with crime victims
• Familiarity with the criminal justice system
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office
